Introduction 3g means 3rd Generation and 2g means 2nd generation. 3g technology is also used in Pakistan. Through this technology mobile service providers in Pakistan can increase their data transfer rate, bandwidth and high frequency. Currently it is mostly used in iphone, apple, nokia and others. PTA or Pakistan Telecommunication Authority is trying to upgrade or convert 2g into 3g technology. Although 3g technology is currently is not approachable for average mobile user but we hope soon rates or prices will come down so that a common man can enjoy this 3g. Mobile users of 3 g technology can get benefit of mobile internet, tv and video calls at high speed data transfer rate. It is now best time in Pakistan to apply this technology before 4g comes. In Pakistan PTCL is using 3g technology through its evo services. It has 3g in more than 105 cities and districts. Other company in Pakistan providing 3g is Worldcall. In India companies that offer this service includes BSNL, MTNL and these have services in all over India. Minimum data transfer rate in 3g technology is 2 Mbits/s. But speed can be different with user demand and specifications of devices. With this tool application like mobile TV, Video Conferencing, Tele Medicine and Video on Demand are used. 4G After 3g 4g has launched and is in action in some European Countries like Sweden, Norway etc. 4g was started in 2009 by Telia Sonera. Currently is is called Pre 4g. We hope that Pakistan is also equipped with latest modern telecommunication technologies and pta or other authorities related try to give this 3g technology in reach of every Pakistani including common man.
