Bahawalpur History
Bahwalpur has five Tehsils including Ahmedpur Sharqia, Hasilpur, Bahawalpur, Khairpur Tamewali and Yazman. Bahwalpur is situated south of Punjab near river satluj. City was started by Muhammad Bahawal khan. Bahwalpur was ruled by Abbasi Khandan for more than two hundred years. In 1954 Nawab of Bahwalpur (Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan) gives order to merge Bahawalpur state in Pakistan. Abbasis forefathers came here from Baghdad. Famous cholistan desert is also near to Bahawalpur.
